Data center energy saving and consumption reduction 36 meters: 1-21
The high energy consumption of data centers has brought a heavy burden to enterprises and also caused a huge waste of energy for the whole society. Government regulators and corporate management are increasingly dissatisfied with high electricity bills. The management of the IT department and the operation and maintenance personnel of the data center are under tremendous pressure. This mode of "emphasizing safety and ignoring energy conservation" will inevitably prove to be a backward and unsustainable operation and maintenance mode that runs counter to green energy conservation. It must be changed when the time comes It's time!
1-3 Strategies: Site Selection and Construction
1. Site selection is the first element. The data center should try to choose a location with high latitude, low temperature, and moderate humidity.
2. Design a fully enclosed data center to improve the sealing performance of the computer room: cancel the external windows; the doors and windows should be sealed; minimize the number of people entering and leaving the computer room. Prevent external hot air from entering the computer room, and cold air from the computer room leaking to the outside.
3. The outer wall of the data center is light-colored; the maintenance structure is insulated in the cooling control area of the computer room to prevent condensed water in the adjacent areas of the computer room due to large temperature and humidity differences and to reduce the cooling load at the same time. In the computer room, try not to use glass walls. Meet the requirements of LEED for green and energy-saving buildings.
4-21 Meter: Airflow Organization and Air Conditioning System
4. Reference for the selection of cooling methods for large data centers: energy utilization efficiency is air cooling < water cooling < natural cooling.
5. Reasonably arrange the position of air-conditioning equipment, and keep a distance of more than 6 feet between the floor of the air outlet and the air-conditioning to avoid short-circuiting of airflow.
6. When there is a raised floor: seal the opening where the cable passes through the floor and optimize the structure under the floor of the machine room to reduce wind resistance. A solution without a raised floor can be considered: let the terminal cooling air conditioner be directly close to the IT load for cooling nearby, and the cold air does not need to pass through the raised floor, saving unnecessary wind resistance and energy consumption.
7. The air conditioner is placed perpendicular to the cabinet row, perpendicular to the hot aisle, and avoids the cold aisle.
8. Design the separation of hot and cold aisles in the airflow organization of the data center or the closure of hot and cold aisles. Prevent hot and cold air short circuits.
9. Build a dedicated large-scale water-cooled computer room precision air conditioner and chip cooling pipeline in the large-scale data center computer room to directly dissipate heat for IT equipment chips.
10. In the computer room of the data center, a 1:1 configuration of computer room air-cooled precision air conditioner + large-scale fresh air fan is adopted, and the natural fresh air cooling source is rationally used.
11. When adopting the scheme with a raised floor, if the machine room is narrow and long, and the power density of the equipment is high, the air conditioners should be scattered and placed, and the height of the raised floor and the air outlet speed of the floor should be appropriately increased to ensure uniform air supply.
12. When conditions permit, the return air duct can be connected to the top of the air conditioner, and the return air outlet can be added above the hot aisle (with a suspended ceiling machine room). Helps remove localized hot spots.
13. Air conditioner pipelines should be arranged at the rear of the air conditioner as much as possible.
14. Place high-power, high-load servers at the bottom or in the middle of the cabinet.
15. Choose an energy-saving humidification system, energy consumption: ultrasonic humidification<wet film humidification<electrode humidification<infrared ray.
16. Set the best working condition of the air conditioner to prevent the situation that some air conditioners are humidifying and some air conditioners are dehumidifying.
17. Recommend automatic atomization technology for condensers of outdoor air conditioners; recommend the use of magnetic levitation centrifugal chillers; recommend the use of space fiber fans.
18. The air conditioner adopts a compressor with high energy efficiency ratio, the motor uses a frequency conversion system, and the terminal air conditioner uses a sunken EC fan.
19. Plate heat exchangers can be widely used in various data centers.
20. Large-scale data centers adopt large-capacity cold storage tanks; ice storage technology and lake water cooling technology are recommended.
21. For high-energy consumption cabinets, water-cooled backplane cabinets and "refrigerator" cabinets can be considered.
